Hogwarts Legacy has a handful of mysteries to uncover as you explore the wizarding castle, and there are even more to uncover as you explore larger locations. One of these mysteries surrounds the Demiguise statues, and they carry a small moon in their hands. You can only pick them up at certain times of the day, and they have a specific meaning for a notable Hogwarts Legacy character. Here’s what you need to know about what to do with Demiguise statues in Hogwarts Legacy.
How Demiguise Statues Work in Hogwarts Legacy
A prankster created these statues to trap one of Hogwarts professors, Professor Moon. Someone learned through a Boggot, a shape-shifting creature, that his greatest fear was Demiguise because they were little monsters that terrified him as a child. They placed these statues all over Hogwarts and Hogsmeade to reach him. When Autumn comes to Hogwarts, Professor Moon asks your character for help and tells you about these statues in the Cartaker’s Moon Lament quest.
This shows you that the Demiguise statues start glowing at night and you can take the moon they hold. When you take the moon, the statue disappears. He recruits you to find all of the Hogwarts and Hogsmeade moons and will teach you how to use Alohomora, an unlock spell that can help you get through doors. He teaches you the basic unlock spell for the quest, then you can learn more difficult Alohomora unlock spells by finding the rest of the Demiguise statues.
It is important to note that you can only fetch these items if it is dark. If you find them during the day, note their location and wait for night to come. You will be able to take their moon and bring them back to Professor Moon, aiding him in his lingering fear.
