A van circulated through Boca Raton, Florida, and threw packages with anti-Semitic pamphlets along with what is believed to be seeds onto the facades and parking lots of some houses
Police in Boca Raton, South Florida, are investigating the distribution in a section of the city of anti-Jewish pamphlets, in what is presumed to be another anti-Semitic act.
According to local police, a van drove through an area of the city between two busy avenues on Saturday and dumped packages containing anti-Semitic pamphlets along with what are believed to be seeds on the facades and parking lots of “several homes.”
Local media collect testimonies from neighbors who confirm having found the pamphlets at the entrances to their homes, which are being investigated by the authorities.
The incident comes as the United States sees a rise in “very negative anti-Israel sentiment” and the belief in anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, according to a new sweeping survey by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) that was released Thursday.
The study, which interviewed more than 4,000 adults, raised different claims on anti-Jewish platitudes and found that 20% of Americans – 52 million people – “agree with six or more of the 11 anti-Jewish statements used since 1964.”
The ADL highlighted that this 20% represents “almost double the anti-Semitic prejudice” that this non-profit institution found in 2019.
