A new snow storm is approaching the East coast of the country with an impact in several states, causing accumulations of snow, but also rain, wind and ice in some states, mainly in the New England region.
In the middle of this week, a snowstorm will impact several states on the East Coast, mainly the New England region, according to a report by AccuWeather.
In addition to snow in certain regions, the precipitation includes sleet, ice, wind and rain that will reach other states, but may have minimal impact in New York, especially in the North region, but not in the Big Apple.
The states with the greatest impact will be Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, with the least impacts in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
New York City will see rain and wind mainly towards the weekend, keeping low temperatures in the low 20s and 30s Fahrenheit and highs in the 40s.
“AccuWeather forecasters believe the storm will move close enough to the coast to spread periods of rain, ice and wet snow in southeastern Massachusetts, including nearby islands, but not as far west as New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., where the current snow drought will continue,” the report states.
This winter has thus far been the ninth longest without snow for New York City, though the upstate could break records, the Weather Service says.
The La Niña phenomenon has impacted the winter, delaying snowfall in certain cities, but affecting colder regions that are commonly warmer, such as Texas and Florida.
