The Brazilian defender reached the Liga MX with the university students in the Apertura 2022 and played a first tournament without relevant wins

The Brazilian team was eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing to Croatia in a penalty shootout at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, once again the green-and-yellow team was left wanting to lift the trophy that would crown them as the best on the planet.

Brazil was the last team that still had a Liga MX player, as Dani Alves reached the quarterfinals, so his current club would benefit from such a fact. It should be remembered that for this tournament, FIFA implemented the Aid Program for Clubs, which grants an economic bonus to the teams that loaned players to their teams.

Because the Brazilian defender is still linked to Pumas, the cats benefited from this program and would be taking a large amount of money close to USD 280,000. Depending on the phase in which the player stayed with his selection is the corresponding support that FIFA will give the club.

This World Cup year, FIFA made USD 209 million available to the teams that loaned their players to their national teams to be distributed among the clubs with players who go the furthest. So the first bonus that Pumas would collect is about the days that Dani Alves was with Brazil.

The Aid Program for Clubs stated that for every day that a player is with his team competing in Qatar 2022 —without considering the minutes he has on the pitch—, squads with active soccer players will have the right to collect USD 10,000.

In the case of the 39-year-old defender, he had five official games: three in the group phase, one in the round of 16 and the quarterfinal duel, for which Pumas would charge USD 50,000 without considering the rest of the days he was in the Brazilian concentration because FIFA does have contemplated the days of training and preparation prior to the games they played as part of the support program.

And it is that this would not be the only support that the Pedregal team could receive since FIFA will reward the effort of each player with his selection, so the further he gets in the competition, the greater the economic bonus will be.

From the group stage to the end of the tournament, each team could collect support, which are classified as follows.

* Group stage: USD 180 thousand

* Round of 16: USD 220 thousand

* Quarterfinals: USD 280 thousand

* Semifinals: USD 320 thousand

* Final: USD 370 thousand

Dani Alves stayed in the quarterfinals, so the support for his club for having reached such a stage in the World Cup would be USD 280,000. If this is added to the bonus for the five games in which he was present, the total amount is USD 330,000.

Then Pumas would be willing to collect such an amount; but, according to FIFA specifications, the last teams in which the player has competed two years before the World Cup could take part of the bonus. In the case of Dani Alves, before joining the Universidad Nacional club he played with Barcelona.

“All the clubs in which the footballer has played in the two years prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup will receive this compensation,” FIFA specified.

So Pumas would have to split the money with Barcelona.
