Xinabajul and Malacateco share the points and draw 1-1

On Date 9 of Guatemala – Closing Tournament 2023, Xinabajul and Malacateco even finished at Los Cuchumatanes Stadium.

The hosts started to win with a goal from Kristian Guzmán in the 47th minute of the complementary phase, while through Omar Villagrán the visitor equalized the game 13 minutes later.

The game had a large number of bookings: Paolo Dantaz, Néstor Jucup, Nelson Andrade, José Javier Longo, Elmer Morales, Feiver Mercado, Keyner Agustín, Kevin Ramírez, Jonathan García, Liborio Sánchez, Fernando Gomez, Raúl Calderón, Kristian Guzmán, Denilson Hernandez and Yonathan Moran.

Xinabajul coach Pablo Centrone proposed a 3-6-1 formation with Liborio Sánchez in goal; Kristian Guzmán, Bruno Paladini and Keyner Agustín on the defensive line; Fernando Gomez, Ronald Ardón, Néstor Jucup, José Javier Longo, Paolo Dantaz and Dominique Dean in the middle; and Gerson Tinoco in the attack.

For their part, Adrián García Arias’ side entered the field with a 4-5-1 pattern with Rubén Silva under the three sticks; Raúl Calderón, Elmer Morales, Jaikel Medina and Kleyman Moscoso in defense; Jorge Laparra, Kevin Ramírez, Nelson Andrade, José Ochoa and John Córdoba in midfield; and Feiver Mercado ahead.

Stib Morales Ordóñez was the referee who officiated the game at Los Cuchumatanes stadium.

Xinabajul’s next game in the championship will be as a visitor against Cobán Imperial, while Malacateco will travel to Achuapa.

With this result, the host of the game reaches 12 points and takes fifth place. For its part, the visiting team remains at 10 units and occupies the ninth place of the tournament.
