The World Chambers Federation (WCF) Summit, to be held next Monday in Bogotá, will see the participation of 27 representatives from various chambers of commerce around the world, who will have the opportunity to interact with businessmen Colombian business people in individual relational spaces to foster collaboration and economic growth.

The event, which allows the exchange of experiences between chambers, will focus on four fundamental thematic axes: access to markets, the adoption of digital tools, sustainability and the empowerment of women where the non-governmental and apolitical forum of Chamber of Commerce is present. International (ICC).

“We are going to start the opening with the businessmen of Bogotá and Cundinamarca so that they can contact the representatives of the chambers and start looking for opportunities”, said the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB) and from the WCF, Nicolás Uribe, who indicated that within two days of the inauguration they will hold a conference of the general and executive council.

Uribe assured that they will have the participation of Vice President Francia Márquez with whom “they will have an interesting session to deepen the work agenda with Africa”, since the event will bring together seven countries of this continent and “c This is a great opportunity for them to create business.” , he said during a virtual press conference.

For her part, the vice-president of international relations and cooperation of the CCB, María Mónica Conde, stressed that the summit “is a strategy and an opportunity to put Colombia on the radar of the world”, since “we will be visited from Iran, Uganda, Cameroon, Nigeria, United States, Puerto Rico, much of Latin America and Europe.

“A delegation of 24 Romanian businessmen is coming with the president of the chamber of this country,” said Conde, who insisted that in addition to putting Colombia on the investment radar, “these presidents (of the chambers) can present their affiliates in the country as a market of opportunity”.

COLOMBIA ON THE INVESTMENT RADAR

Colombia is preparing to receive a great opportunity in the business world, which seeks to promote the country as an investment destination and attract businessmen from all over the world to explore new possibilities and new markets, has stressed Uribe, adding that in a difficult economic context “This represents a unique platform to promote the diversification of value chains and the search for alternatives to invest, export and do business.”

The WCF summit in Bogotá not only represents an opportunity for the economic growth of the country, but it is also an opportunity to promote the investment destination, according to the CCB.

“‘Invest in Bogotá’ aims to promote the city and the country as an attractive destination for business people and to encourage the diversification of value chains”, said Uribe, mentioning that “investment is essential for development technology, job creation and policy financing, so events like this should be a priority program for Colombia and Bogotá”.

The president of CCB and WCF pointed out that Colombia has essential characteristics to attract investment, due to its large market of 50 million consumers. In addition, its geographical location with two ports allows it to expand to South America, Central America and the United States, which “is attractive for the installation of new companies”.

“We see new opportunities to increase and diversify exports, in order to boost the country’s economic growth”, we also seek “to acquire the best tools to strengthen the business sector in the four strategic axes prioritized by the organization”, concluded Uribe Rueda.
