Maria Teresa dos Santos, better known as Teca, 51, was brutally attacked by her own dog on July 14. The incident occurred while Teca was alone in her home, located in Taubate, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
She bent down to interact with her pet dog, at which point the animal approached, put its head on her shoulder and suddenly bit her.
The injuries suffered by Teca were extremely serious, leading to her being hospitalized for 28 long days, 15 of which were spent in a coma. During this period of hospitalization, she had to undergo several surgeries, including the amputation of her right arm.
“Sixty days ago, I was the victim of a brutal attack by my own dog. I received more than a thousand stitches in my arms, head and neck, and had to undergo a transhumeral amputation of my right upper limb,” she said.
