Naason Joaquin Garciacalled by his followers “Apostle of Jesus Christ”, is the international leader and president of La Luz del Mundo Church.

He was born on May 7, 1969 in Guadalajara and according to the official website of the Church, Naasón led a group of young people at the age of 14 in the Guadalajara Church, “being a stage of example, of commitment and work in evangelization, bringing the message of love and salvation to the souls”.

In that period he was sent as a missionary in Spain and Portugal.

In 1992 he married Alma Zamora de Joaquín, with whom he had 3 children: Adoraím, Eldaí and Sibma.

From 2003 to 2014 he was Director of the Northern Jurisdiction of the Church in Mexico, which includes all the border states with the American Union.

 

After the death of his father, Samuel Joaquín Flores, on December 8, 2014, Joaquín García assumed the direction of the Church founded by his grandfather Eusebio Joaquín González, in Monterrey, which had then reached a presence in 50 nations.

From his appointment, he began his journey to preach in the countries, cities and towns where the Church has a presence and to be able to extend it.

The Church of the Light of the Worldbased in Guadalajara, currently has a presence in 23 states of the Mexican Republic.

According to official figures from Inegi, by 2010 it had 188,326 members in Mexico.

On their website, in 2014 they would have carried out a total of five million baptisms in 50 countries. With these figures, he makes it as the second Church with the largest number of faithful in the country.

The proclaimed apostle was arrested on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in California for the crimes of alleged human trafficking, child pornography, possible child abuse, and other crimes.

On May 15 of that same year he was honored in Fine Arts for his 50 years.

This Friday, June 3, 2022, Naasón Joaquín García, leader of the La Luz del Mundo church, pleaded guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court to sexually abusing three girls, as reported by California state prosecutors.
