Who is Luis Walton Aburto, the possible substitute for Salgado Macedonio for the governorship of Guerrero

The National Electoral Institute (INE) reported on Tuesday night about the cancellation of the candidacy of Félix Salgado Macedonio by the government of the state of Guerrero. After the news was made official, the agency provided Morena 48 hours to find a replacement.

And it is that according to the document that was discussed in session, the INE proposes that Pablo Amílcar Sandoval and Adela Román remain the same as Salgado Macedonio, that is, without registration to the candidacy and without the possibility of participating in the replacement process.

In this context, among the ranks of Morena came the name of Luis Walton Aburto, candidate that I would have a green light since he would be allowed to register and would only be credited with a fine of 217 thousand 200 pesos, this for having made an omission in his campaign report, which he did deliver.

INE reports indicate that Walton aburto registered as a candidate last December 4, 2020 Y on March 2, it presented expenses for “different concepts for 502 thousand pesos”; however, it did not exempt him from his responsibility to deliver the corresponding report, but it is possible to note that “he intended to make the resources used in the pre-campaign transparent.”

On the other hand, in the cases of Amílcar and Román, the same arguments were used as with Félix Salgado Macedonio. that is, both applicants did not submit their pre-campaign expense reports, so they “committed a serious fault”.

PROFILE OF WALTON ABURTO

Luis Walton Aburto He was former mayor of Acapulco, senator and deputy, for which he has held many positions on Guerrero soil.

Last February, Walton Aburto made clear his desire to be Morena’s candidate for Guerrero. “Make no mistake: we continue on the path of the Fourth Transformation to come,” Aburto wrote at the time on his personal Twitter account.

From January 23, 2010 to July 31, 2011, Walton Aburto developed as Coordinator of the defunct Mexican party Convergence.

Subsequently, between 2012 and 2015, he served as Coordinator of the Citizen Movement. Some time later he left it and left his post to Dante Delgado.

DIRECTORS CANCEL AL TORO

Because no submitted campaign spending reports, the National Electoral Institute (INE) once again sanctioned Félix Salgado Macedonio with the cancellation of his candidacy for the government of the state of Guerrero. Later, the electoral body ordered Morena to replace him as a candidate within 48 hours.

The punishment was the same for Raúl Morón, a Morenista candidate for the government of the state of Michoacán; However, in this case, the INE offered AMLO’s party a period of 5 days to search for a replacement.

It should be noted that in both events, the sanction was approved with a difference of 6 votes in favor and 5 against.

Meanwhile, Salgado Macedonio and Mario Delgado, who were waiting for the result outside the institution’s facilities, affirmed that they will take the decision to the TEPJF.

However, this story does not end here yet, as the guerrerense will be able to return to appeal the decision before the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF).
