On Thursday (12), Bolsonaro influencer Karol Eller died. The death was confirmed by federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) on his social networks. After the publication of negative messages on social media, the suspicion is that Karol committed suicide, but this information has not been confirmed so far.
In September of this year, Karol Eller, who was a lesbian, decided to go through a process of “renouncing her sexuality” after attending a religious retreat. The influencer became known for being an LGBT person who supported former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) mourned Eller’s death.
Who is Karol Eller?
Karol Eller was 36 years old and the third cousin of singer Cassia Eller. Karol became an influencer while living in the United States and chronicled her daily life, reaching 200,000 followers on Instagram and 700,000 on Facebook.
In 2019, Karol became known for reporting a false homophobic attack on Barra da Tijuca beach. After the investigations, police chief Adriana Belém reported that Karol Eller was lying and using “the state’s administrative machine” to do so.
At the end of 2019, Karol Eller became close to the Bolsonaro family, which earned her an appointment to work at the Brazil Communication Company (EBC), a position she held until the beginning of this year, when she was dismissed after taking part in the January 8 attacks.
After her dismissal, Karol Eller became an advisor to state deputy Paulo Mansur (PL). The influencer was also close to Bolsonaro’s son 04, Jair Renan, and has been seen close to former ministers Paulo Guedes and Damares Alves (Republicans-DF).
News Karol Eller: right-wing politicians mourn the death of the influencer
On social media, Nikolas Ferreira announced the death of Karol Eller and reported that he was “practically without strength”, the federal deputy wished comfort to the influencer’s family.
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) published a photo with Karol, paid tribute to the influencer in the caption and asked for “respect for Karol’s story and prayers for her soul and for everyone’s comfort”. Eduardo Bolsonaro also issued a note of condolence for Karol Eller’s death.
