On March 3, it opens in Buenos Aires Walt Disney and The Group: A Journey Through Latin America, presented by The Walt Disney Archives in conjunction with The Walt Disney Company Latin America Live Entertainment Team. This is the first exhibition dedicated to the research trip that Walt Disney made in 1941 through several Latin American countries with a select group of artists.
The exhibition is part of Disney’s celebration of its 100-year history and is presented in Arte x Arte with free admission, and features rarely-seen photos from the iconic tour led by Walt to meet the locals, experience the beauty of their lands, and celebrate their cultures in future Disney films.
The exhibition can be visited from March 3 to April 30Tuesday to Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Throughout the three-story tour of the gallery, the show invites audiences to meet select Walt Disney writers, graphic designers and musicians, while revealing how the tour was planned and executed. Those who visit the exhibition will be able to discover what the artists discovered and experienced in each of the destinations of the nine countries visited: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala and Mexico, later reflected in two color films and creativity that celebrate the beauty and cultural richness of Latin America: Hi friends (Brazil, 1942 – United States, 1943) and the three gentlemen (Mexico, 1944 – United States, 1945). Both films are available on its platform.

The exhibition includes around a hundred photographs, period audiovisual material, fragments of films, posters of the two films and more than thirty sketches inspired by the trip.

It is also worth saying that Walt Disney and The Group: A Journey Through Latin America It was designed with the curatorial teams involved as an exhibition accessible to people with hearing, motor, visual and neurodivergent disabilities: it offers signage and audioguides in Braille, interpretation in Sign Language; It has ramps and elevators, a space for reduced stimuli, and a signage system with web-downloadable resources, so you can learn about the experience beforehand. It also has a trained team to provide support.
