“Until further notice”, the German manufacturer Volkswagen stops doing business in Russia due to the Ukraine war. The company announced Thursday that production at the Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod sites will be suspended until further notice. Vehicle exports to Russia will also stop with immediate effect.
“In the context of the Russian attack, the Group’s Board of Directors has decided to halt vehicle production in Russia until further notice,” the Wolfsburg-based company said on Thursday.
Last Wednesday, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would stop exporting cars to Russia and stop local production.
