Washington, February 13 A shooting at a university in Michigan (United States) on Monday evening left at least three people dead and five injured in the city, according to local authorities.
The suspect in the attack, a “short” man wearing “a mask”, has not yet been arrested, Michigan State University police said.
“There are at least five victims, all of whom have been transported to a local hospital and several of whom have life-threatening injuries,” University Police Sheriff Chris Rozman said at a news conference.
“The information so far is preliminary and our priority is campus and student safety,” he added.
On its Twitter account, the university police confirmed that the attack left at least three people dead and five injured.
Authorities have asked students and workers on campus, where attacks on two buildings have been reported, to take shelter while the situation is under control.
State Governor Gretchen Whitmer said she was alerted to the situation.
“Police and first responders are already in the area,” the policy wrote on his Twitter account.
The university, located in the city of East Lansing, is one of the largest in the country, with over 50,000 students.
