Trouble continues for the Australian Open. A little less than three weeks before the tournament starts, the organization faces a situation that is to say the least complicated.

To the protests of several of the 72 players who must comply with a strict quarantine for having shared a plane for several positives is now added the news advanced by the Australian media The Age, which includes that two tennis players have tested positive this Tuesday while they were serving the quarantine in the Melbourne hotel.

Brett Sutton, head of the Victoria State Health Office, announced the news. “The new cases related to the Australian Open are two tennis players and another participant who does not compete.”

The news means more difficulties for tennis players who will have to comply with this stricter quarantine in their rooms, as Sutton himself stated. “After these cases were confirmed, that does not change the assessment of the group of players who have to comply with the quarantine.”
