The General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) obtained process linkage against three alleged traffickers that they transported 194 kilograms of cocaine and fentanyl in a plane intercepted at Baja California by agents of the army.

They are José Alberto Vázquez Gastélum, Caín Ubaldo Soria Ponce and Jaime Ramón Álvarez Bojórquez, detained at the Pista Aérea del Sol located in the Hermosillo Ejido of the Mexicali Valley last month.

According to the FGR report, elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) and the State Security Guard were alerted by the overflight of a plane with a different itinerary than the records.

Upon arrival, the uniformed officers observed that the aircraft had already landed and that three people were near it. They immediately approached with a canine pairing that tested positive when the suspicious shipment was found and they searched the interior of the unit.

“There they located, in its two wings, 61 packages with cocaine hydrochloride weighing 159 kilos 828.7 grams; 55 packages with 349 thousand 421 pills of fentanyl weighing 35 kilos, 496.8 grams and 40 thousand US dollars ”, reported the FGR.

The three subjects, the narcotic and the aircraft were left at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), attached to the Specialized Unit for Investigation of Crimes Against Health, who after integrating the investigation folder and exposing the test data, the Judge granted the link to process.

This case is prosecuted by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO), an instance that charged the crimes of operations with resources of illicit origin and against health in the mode of transporting cocaine and fentanyl hydrochloride.

In addition to the connection, the judge also imposed informal preventive detention in the Mexicali Penitentiary Center and granted four months for the complementary investigation.
