Members of the Municipal Youth Institute (IMJ) Of the Municipality of Tlalnepantla de Bazthey painted a wall In honour of protectionrescue dog of the Turkish Humanitarian Aid Brigade of the Ministry of National Defense (sedena).

Through social networks, the agency published a photograph of the graffiti painted on two fences of a house located in the Avenue Mario Colinin the aforementioned demarcation of the State of Mexico.

“In #TlalnepantlaDeBaz we pay tribute to #Proteo, who in the exercise of his heroic duty lost his life during the rescue operations carried out in #Turkey,” said IMJ.

Thank you for everything #Proteus, see you soon!“, added the Institute in honor of the German shepherd who lost his life on February 12 in Turkey, due to the extreme climate of this country.

The work was created by the artist Croms Akompa, who paints graffiti murals and does tattoos. Previously he had already occupied spaces in coordination with the IMJ, for example, in San Luca Tepetlacalco he shaped a field with nopales, an agave and an ear of corn with the legend: “If you want to go far, walk in a group.

La Sedena through its social networks thanked the IMJ for the painting, noting that Proteus has fulfilled its mission and will always live in their hearts. “Thank you for everything Champion, you completed the mission! Our #Hero #Proteus will live on in our hearts!”

Proteo’s mural in Tlalnepantla is not the only one painted in his memory. Also in the fan game of Trabzonspor, of the Super League, a tribute to the lifeguards was presented in which the image of Proteo appears.

The German Shepherd was one of 16 puppies that were part of the Mexican brigade that provided humanitarian aid after the earthquake of magnitude 7.8 degrees, recorded on February 6 in the mentioned country.

Before dying of bad weather, Proteus collaborated in the rescue of a living miner there recover 14 bodies that were left under the rubble of collapsed buildings.

At the time of his death, he was nine years and seven months old. From the age of four months, he was in charge of Corporal Carlos Villeda Marquezwho was also in charge of their training in locating people at risk.

Proteo, trained and cared for by Corporal Villeda Márquez, was part of the First Military Police Brigade, in military camp number 1-A in Mexico City. He was also involved in rescue efforts during a landslide in Guatemala in 2015.

It participated in the earthquake in Ecuador in April 216, in the earthquake of September 19, 2017 in Mexico City, then in the landslides derived from Hurricane Agatha and finally in Turkey. Throughout his career as a rescue dog helped find at least 50 people.
