Colombia is preparing for another day of protests. Critics of Health Reform will take to the streets to show their discontent. under the slogan “Reform yes, but not like that”different movements point out that there is no particular focus on what they want to do with the project, arguing that this directly affects workers and patients.

The days of demonstrations are agreed for the Friday March 3 and Thursday March 9 and, of course, several meeting points were revealed, highlighting that, for the most part, sit-ins and marches start at 5 p.m., depending on the city.

On the subject, Denis Silvaspokesperson for Colombian Patients, I speak in Radio Blue, explaining that various aspects of health reform need to be implemented; however, it is necessary to reach a consensus and agree on points that directly benefit the user and the healthcare server.

Regarding Silva’s explanation, Radio Blue cited :

“We invite all workers and patients who believe that, as things stand, their right to life may be diminished or affected; We do not support EPS, therefore our proposal is EPS-free; however, we believe that things as they are in Congress are detrimental to citizens.

Cartagena: from India Catalina to Plaza de la Aduana – 4:30 p.m.

Montería: from Calle 41 with 2da to Parque Laureano G – 5:00 p.m.

Barranquilla: Edgar Rentería Stadium to Amira de la Rosa Park – 4:30 p.m.

Sincelejo: from Parque de los Periodistas to Parque Santander – 5:00 p.m.

Bucaramanga: from Luis Carlos Galán Square – sit-in at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The spokesperson for Patients Colombia refers to the proper process that the reform project should have, prioritizing several important points, such as the future of the EPS, which according to Silva would not disappear, but, as stated by the President Gustavo Petro I urge the development of more health posts.

However, the representative of Colombie Patients wondered about the future of EPS who do not want to carry out this process, because according to him, there is no clarity on this point:

“The President of the Republic said that he was not going to eliminate the EPS, but that is not true, what the President announced was that the EPS must be transformed and health centers created primaries; that is to say health posts, then president, all these EPS who do not want to do it, will they be deleted?

“If all the EPS are made up of health posts, who will assume part of the functions, of these,” he said, assuring that what will happen to many health officials in the reform is not explained in the text of the reform of the country, therefore, to do without some EPS, these could be left to drift.

Likewise, Silva pointed out to the Minister of Health, assuring that it is necessary for Carolina Corcho to disclose the details of the reform to the country, in addition to establishing a dialogue table with the service actors who are involved, on the topic, he said:

“We are concerned about four things about the reform, first that it is not going to be regressive in the enjoyment of the right, it must be progressive, also for Dr Carolina (Corcho), because it does not speak not and because it does not listen to all the players in the health system, you have to socialize the text of the reform to know what your proposal or model is, to see if anyone can join”.
