Horace Rodriguez Larreta conducted this Tuesday the act of selection of the 400 candidates who registered for the proposal”Open lists”, summoned by the PRO in the city of Buenos Aires. The measure promoted by the president of the Legislative Assembly of Buenos Aires, Emmanuel Ferrariosucceeded in convening 16,400 people when registration began.
As indicated, the final phase is approaching where 200 people will enter the PRO School of Leaders and 34 will join the lists of pre-candidates for this year’s elections. In this sense, they highlighted the impact of the call, since it exceeded the only similar experience organized by the party of Emmanuel Macron In France.
The project, inspired by the need to renew the political leadership and incorporate new issues on the agenda of the PRO, was promoted by the pre-candidate for head of government and president of the Legislative Assembly of Buenos Aires, Emmanuel Ferrarioin June 2022. Open lists thus called on Buenos Aires who had never participated in political life to be protagonists of the “next 10 years of the City”.

“Today, political leaders are challenged to regain the trust and credibility of the people with concrete actions and above all, with results,” Larreta said at an event at the Floralis Generica, in Palermo, in which they participated 300 candidates still in the race. “In the face of the country’s difficult situation, of anguish and frustration, it gives hope to see and speak with people who are ready to get involved,” he said.
For his part, Ferrario remarked that in the city “there is a desire to continue to improve and to do more” and added that the open lists “open the door to these desires to become actions, adding ideas and voices that make politics uncomfortable and offer new solutions”.
In June 2022, the call was launched where 16,400 people filled out a form on the City of Buenos Aires PRO site.
After going through the “blank record” exam, the registrants went through a stage of commitments in which they had to deepen their profiles and the proposals they have for the city of Buenos Aires.
Among them, more than 1,000 people were selected for telephone interviews and later 400 came for face-to-face interviews.
In mid-March, 200 registrants will enter the PRO School of Leaders to finally integrate 34 of them on the lists of pre-candidates of the city of Buenos Aires (4 legislators and 30 community members).
