(Corrected to clarify that this refers to the retreat of the Peruvian Ambassador to Mexico and not Mexico to Lima)
LIMA, Feb 24 (Reuters) – Peruvian President Dina Boluarte announced on Friday the “permanent withdrawal” of Peru’s ambassador to Mexico due to statements by Mexican President Manuel López Obrador against the government in Lima.
Boluarte, in a brief message to the nation, said López Obrador favored his “ideological affinity” in defending ousted left-wing Peruvian former president Pedro Castillo, who illegally tried to dissolve Congress in December.
