REDMOND, Wash. (AP) — A podcast host and her husband were found shot dead in their suburban Seattle home, along with a dead man who allegedly stalked the woman for months, in a case police described as his “ worst nightmare ” .
Police say they tried to serve a restraining order on Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, 38, before Friday’s killings, but had trouble locating the Texas truck driver, the police chief said. of Redmond, Darrell Lowe. .
In the previous week, the court ruled in favor of Zohreh Sadeghi, 33, and her husband, Mohammad Milad Naseri, 35, after seeking protection through a restraining order against the alleged stalker.
Sadeghi’s mother called police around 1.45am on Friday after she escaped the house and fled to a neighbour’s house.
Officers found Naseri on the ground near the door to the house and dragged him outside where they saw he had a gunshot wound. They tried to perform CPR on him, but he died instantly. Inside the house, officers found Sadeghi and the suspect dead.
“It’s the worst outcome in a harassment case. It’s every victim’s worst nightmare, every detective, every police chief,” Lowe said at a press conference on Friday.
Khodakaramrezaei befriended Sadeghi online in a chat room for Farsi-speaking tech job seekers in late 2021 after listening to the woman’s podcasts.
Lowe said the two men met in person in the middle of last year before Khodakaramrezaei began making harassing and threatening phone calls towards the end of the year.
Sadeghi wrote in the protection order application that Khodakaramrezaei had threatened to come to his home and set it on fire, leaving voicemails saying he would only stop if he ‘committed suicide or died’ .
