The political and social crisis in Peru has been going on for more than two months and according to a publication by the Mediator, there are still blockages on certain roads, as well as mobilizations and announcements of upcoming demonstrations. Since December 7, 2022, 60 deaths have been recorded, including a police officer who was burned. 48 civilians lost their lives in the clashes while 11 due to roadblock-related accidents.

Until February 14, the Québec Ombudsman recorded 1,298 injuries, including 905 in 2023. The remaining 393 have been recorded since December 7, the day on which Pedro Castillo carried out a coup and Dina Boluarte took over the presidency of the Republic. Regarding the mobilizations, on February 19 there was only one in Moyobamba while the blockades took place in the provinces of El Collao, Chucuito, Puno, San Román, Lampa, Azángaro, Melgar and Carabaya. Demonstrations were announced in Arequipa, Puno and Loreto while in La Convención threats of takeovers of facilities were made. Access road blockages have been reported in Espinar.
