Through social networks, the tragic moment when New Mexico Police Officer Darian Jarrot, in the United States, was brutally shot and killed.

The video was taken from Jarrott’s patrol camera, just at the moment that a procedural stop ended in the execution of the officer at the hands of the fugitive, who started a persecution that also led to his death.

The recording shows that the driver identified himself as Omar Cueva, and exchanged some kind comments with the driver, until admitted to having a gun in the car.

Cueva lowered the car, supposedly going to follow the officer to the security vehicle, but he did so with an AR-15 rifle in his hands and immediately opened fire against the helpless Jarrott.

“Oh shit!” Is the last thing the uniformed man said before falling to the ground, according to the video of the account Police Activity, who claim to have published the content “intended solely for educational and informational purposes.”

Darian was assassinated on February 4, 2021, a New Mexico state police officer in the town of Deming, Luna County, who was assisting Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

The officer, in the first instance, indicated the traffic stop to a white Chevrolet pickup on Interstate 10 East, near mile marker 101. During the stop, the driver identified as Omar Felix Cueva, 39, fired at least one shot at the officer.

Immediately after, an HSI agent arrived on the scene and notified the New Mexico State Police dispatch that an officer had fallen. A transmission was sent to state and local law enforcement agencies.

The officers responded to the fire, but the suspect fled while evading shots and officers. His course, official data indicated, was east on Interstate 10.

During the chase, other New Mexico State Police officers successfully used tire deflators near the Picacho exit on Interstate 10 and near milepost 135 in Las Cruces.

Cueva continued on his way, but the officers of the Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD), the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office (DASO), as well as an agent of the United States Border Patrol (USBP) they joined the persecution.

An LCPD officer used a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver near the 140 mile post. When the truck stopped, Cueva got out of the armed vehicle and fired multiple rounds towards the officers, who they responded to the shooting and they wounded him at least once.

Officers assisted Cueva until emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene. Cueva suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

A Las Cruces police officer was shot. The officer was airlifted to a trauma hospital in Texas, where he was treated and released for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

The official Darian Jarrott began his career as a transportation inspector at NMDPS. He was certified as a law enforcement officer in December 2014 and worked with the former NMDPS Motor Transportation Division.

In July 2015, he was sworn in as an officer of the New Mexico State Police, where he served courageously until the fateful February 4, 2021.

Officer Jarrott she left behind three young children and was expecting her fourth child, who would be born during 2021.

Darian Jarrott was shaved and escorted by NMSP patrols back to his home in Deming, a tour that was broadcast through the department’s social networks.

Jarrott’s last dismissal was held on Friday, February 12, 2021. The services were within the Lordsburg High School football field (Maverick Stadium). Immediately after the service, the officer was escorted to Shakespeare’s cemetery for a private burial.
