Taylor Swift’s fans raised money to pay for the transfer of the young woman’s body
Taylor Swift’s experience in Brazil is not being one of the best of her tour ‘The Eras Tour’. After the death of fan Ana Clara Benevides during the first concert in Rio de Janeiro, the singer is suffering criticism from Brazilians for not helping the family of the 23-year-old with the costs of moving the body.
The extreme heat in Brazil claimed the life of Ana Clara, who suffered a cardiac arrest due to the heat that prevailed in the venue moments before the show.
After the confirmation of the fan’s death, Taylor Swift issued a short statement on her social networks lamenting what happened: “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it is with a broken heart that I say we lost a fan tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am about this,” the singer wrote.
However, the fan community of the ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Bad Blood’ songwriter has criticized the pop star’s attitude of not helping Ana Clara’s family and not mentioning what happened during her subsequent concerts.

Taylor’s fans raised the money
Due to the lack of support from the singer and the organizing company, Time For Fun, a group of fans mobilized to raise the money needed to transport the body of the young woman, who lived in Mato Grosso do Sul.
“We would like to thank the fans who have contributed in any way, either by divulging or donating so that Ana could return home! A responsibility that was not ours, but due to the negligence and irresponsibility of third parties, we had to take the initiative to help the family in that delicate moment. We will never forget”, published on X the page Update Swift Brazil, one of the largest fan communities of the singer in the country and the main responsible for organizing the donation.
“We would like to ask you to take a look at the situation of Ana Clara’s family. In a recent interview, her family communicated that the organization is not providing any support for them to bring her home. We understand that this is a sensitive issue, but the fact happened, we can’t pretend it didn’t. They need help, please!” she wrote in a previous post, this time mentioning Taylor Swift’s and Tree Paine’s profiles, the singer’s famous publicist.
Taylor Swift’s ‘silence’ annoys fans
In addition to the statement on the day of the tragedy, Taylor Swift has not mentioned the occurred in other situations. A fact that has annoyed the singer’s fans, who ask for ‘respect’ to Ana Clara.
During Monday’s concert – which was to be on Sunday, but was postponed -, the pop star included the song ‘Bigger Than The Whole Sky’ in her set, which was reported by the international press as a tribute to the deceased young woman.
However, people who attended the stadium told on social networks that at no time was Ana Clara Benevides’ name mentioned, before or after the song.
Swift’s ‘cold’ attitude regarding the death of her fan has generated a lot of criticism on social networks.
“And she didn’t even mention the girl’s name. Everyone understands and is fully aware that it’s not Taylor’s fault, but it’s her choice to ignore and treat what happened to this girl with coldness and contempt,” posted one user on X.
“Taylor Swift’s stance on Ana’s death was garbage. She didn’t mention the girl’s name or anything like that. You chose to go on with your life, get up on stage and sing like nothing happened. what if she was an American fan, what would the stance be?” another criticized.
