The left-wing coalition between United We Can and the Socialist Party, which makes up the Government of Spain, gets last-minute support for a key labor reform demanded by Brussels and which aims to end the precariousness of employment.

However, the last minute change of vote of two deputies meant that the text ended up being approved thanks to the error in the vote of an opposition member. The result was 175 votes in favor and 174 against in a 350-seat chamber. Both the Popular Party and Vox say they will take the case to court. Although the reform entered into force on January 1 after a hard-fought agreement negotiated between the Government, employers and unions, it still needed parliamentary approval in order not to be annulled.
