The name of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardocurrent head of the government of Mexico City, is one of the most important among the main options of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) for the 2024 presidential candidacy.
Omar García Harfuch clarified that he will not run for the CDMX seat of government in 2024 and reiterated his support for Sheinbaum
The capital’s police chief brushed off rumors of his possible candidacy to replace Sheinbaum Pardo, but expressed his desire to continue on the official’s team
The importance of this electoral process is not only in the potential continuity of the Fourth Transformation (4T) project at the federal level, but also that the possibility of a woman acceding to the Presidency of Mexico could again arise.
Currently, according to the researcher Annie Pardo Cemomother of Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexican society is ready for “a woman can lead this country”.
Monreal accepted Morena’s rules for the presidential bid
Through a video on his social networks, the coordinator of the guinda party recalled that he has been with AMLO for 25 years
In an interview for Formula groupAnnie Pardo estimated that in Mexico the conditions exist for a woman to be president, even if it is not the only aspect to be considered for the renewal of the federal executive.
The person who succeeds Andrés Manuel López Obrador “must be someone who shows that he has a job that supports him and it’s honest“says the researcher from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
The video scandal that Brozo discovered and showed René Bejarano and Carlos Ímaz receiving bundles of bills
In 2004, the head of the Tlalpan delegation, Carlos Ímaz, who was Claudia Sheinbaum’s husband at the time, was caught receiving money from businessman Carlos Ahumada.
Such qualities, from his point of view, would be fully covered by the head of the capital’s government. “As a citizen, I think that there is nothing better for this country than Claudia as president. As a mother, I would have liked her to have a more relaxed job,” Pardo Cemo said in his conversation with journalist Diana Soto.
“It never occurred to me that my daughter or my son could be President of the Republic. I didn’t think of it (…) Considering what Claudia did, she can be the president of mexico or she can be what she considers“, assured Annie Pardo.
Another of the topics discussed during the interview was how Claudia Sheinbaum met the current president, when he was about to begin his administration as head of government of the former Federal District (DF).
As the researcher recalls, Sheinbaum Pardo followed in her footsteps in the academic field, since she obtained a master’s degree and a doctorate at the Maximum House of Studies. Subsequently, he continued his studies in the United States thanks to a four-year stay at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratoryassociated with the University of California.
Upon his return from that country, Sheinbaum began to collaborate with a researcher from the Engineering Institute of UNAM in the development of an environmental science program. This project was designed for Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“Claudia, like everything she does and comes with passion and responsibility, I work a lot on this program,” said Annie Pardo. When one of the project participants fell unexpectedly ill, the researcher recommended the current president of CDMX to AMLO.
“He recommended Claudia to López Obrador because she knew the Environment program very well and that’s when he invited her to work as environmental manager. She was almost freshly unpacked from her doctorate,” said the researcher.
From there, Claudia Sheinbaum began to have more contact with public administration until in 2015 she fully entered politics becoming head of the Tlalpan delegation, a position she held until 2015. in December 2017.
At the end of his administration, he joined the López Obrador project to achieve the presidency as coordinator in the development of the National Project 2018-2024 of the current president. The year AMLO took over the federal executive, it reached the equivalent position in Mexico City.
Today Claudia Sheinbaum is singled out as one of Morena’s top letters for 2024 and has even been considered a “the favorite” of López Obrador to relieve him. However, there are still months of “squabbling” within the party over who will try to keep the organization at the helm of the country.
