In Schoten, Antwerp, a seven-year-old child died in a traffic accident on Horstebaan on Wednesday morning. That reports the Antwerp public prosecutor.
The child was on its way to school by bicycle at around 8 am accompanied by his or her mother when – presumably during a crossing maneuver – it collided with a car with a trailer.
The exact circumstances of the tragic accident are still being mapped out, according to the public prosecutor’s office. A traffic expert has been appointed.
A perimeter has been set up at the site of the collision, the road will probably remain closed for a while.
