This morning a group of seven neighbors of the neighborhood of Buenos Aires Villa Lugano returned to demonstrate on the road to Highway dellepiane in claim for the repeated power cuts that affected the area for days. Due to the protest, road traffic is restricted in both directions and long lines of delays have been generated.
Protesters appeared on the freeway around 5:45 a.m. and blocked the way to Avenida Escalada. Now traffic is completely paralyzed.
Since the early hours of the day, the Municipal Police has been diverting the movement of trucks, cars and long-distance buses in the direction of CABA towards General Paz and highways 25 from Mayo, Riccheri and Perito Moreno.

At present, traffic on the Riccheri Expressway is loaded with traffic from the city of Buenos Aires de Tapiales to the Federal Capital, with detours to General Paz Avenue, which is congested and with delays, although in both ways.
In addition, the cut affects the Dellepiane collectors which, although they are authorized to move, also present difficulties of access.
On Avenida Escalada, residents placed four wooden fences on either side to block traffic. However, some motorists managed to bypass them and continue on their way.
The problem originated over the weekend, when more than 200,000 families in neighborhoods in Buenos Aires and the suburbs of Buenos Aires were affected by power cuts as the thermal sensation in several places reached 40 degrees.
“There are a lot of people whose energy has not yet returned. The problem is that in the Edesur region many of these cuts have been repeated cuts, these are cuts that began on Friday. They supplied them with electricity for a few hours and they cut it again. This is the cause why now the Dellepiane Highwayespecially in Lugano,” said Walter Martellocontroller of the Energy Regulation Entity (ENRE), in consultation with Discovery Radio.

Yesterday, the peak of cuts was recorded at 2:25 p.m., with nearly 40,000 customers without electricity.
