KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia has again bombarded Ukraine with a barrage of shells, firing 36 cruise and other missiles, 16 of which were shot down by anti-aircraft batteries, Ukrainian officials said Thursday.
According to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, the missiles hit targets in the north, west and south of the country.
A 79-year-old woman was killed and at least seven others injured during the offensive in the eastern town of Pavlohrad, according to local governor Serhiy Lysak.
Maksym Kozitskyi, governor of a western province, said a fire broke out at “critical” infrastructure in the Lviv region, but did not provide further details.
