Russia expels number 2 from the US embassy in Moscow

This Thursday, February 17, Russia expelled “number 2” from the US embassy in Moscow, Bart Gormana measure that Washington regrets as “unprovoked”, reported the State Department, in full tension over the threat of a Russian military invasion of Ukraine

“We can confirm that the US expelled the deputy chief of mission in Russia, Bart Gorman. Gorman was the second-ranking official at the US embassy,” said a State Department spokesman, who requested anonymity.

Before this measure “unprovoked” and that the government of U.S seen as a step in the “escalation” of bilateral tensions, Washington is evaluating a “response” in the midst of the crisis over the Russian military concentration on the border with Ukraine.
