LOS ANGELES (AP) — D’Angelo Russell had 28 points and nine assists in his dynamic return to the team after six games with an injury, Dennis Schröder had 23 points and seven assists and the Los Angeles Lakers picked up their seventh victory in nine dates through Friday by beating the Toronto Raptors 122-112.

Austin Reaves had 18 points and Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt added 16 apiece for the Lakers who extended their incredible comeback. This time, the contribution of their superstar Anthony Davis was limited to eight points and nine rebounds, including the winning basket, his only shot from the field in the second period, 46 seconds from the end.

Russell was the centerpiece of Lakers transfer operations, but only played four games in his second stint with the team before spraining his right ankle.

Scottie Barnes had a career-high 20 of 32 points in the second half and OG Anunoby made his first 11 shots and finished with 31 points in the Raptors’ fourth loss in five road games. Toronto had beaten the Lakers seven straight on the road since 2014.
