Rogelio Franco, former Secretary of the Government of Veracruz, was arrested for alleged crime of domestic violence

The former Secretary of the Government of Veracruz, Rogelio Franco Castán, was arrested this Saturday in the city of Tuxpan, north of the entity, by elements of the Ministerial Police for the alleged crime of family violence.

The former official of the government of the PAN Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares, had an arrest warrant derived from the investigation folder UIPJ-1 / DXI / FE2 / 522/2021 of the Special Prosecutor’s Office in the Investigation of Crimes of Violence against the Family, Women , Girls, Boys and Human Trafficking, based in the city of Xalapa, capital of the State.

And it is that in 2019 and 2020, his now ex-wife Guillermina Alvarado González, publicly denounced him through videos of suffering psychological, physical and economic abuse.

Through a statement, the party indicates that the arrest made by the Veracruz Prosecutor’s Office was “impermissible, selective law and political persecution.” He also expressed his support and solidarity with Franco Castán.

The national president of the PRD, Jesús Zambrano Grijalva, also accused that “for evidently political reasons” they detained the former state secretary.

The leader also questioned that the arrest took place two days after Morena filed a complaint with the Electoral Institute of Veracruz against the candidacy of Rogelio Franco, who will run for a federal deputation of proportional representation for the PRD.
