Los Angeles (United States), March 9. Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno (Puerto Rico, 1931) received the honorary Lynn Stalmaster award this Thursday at the 38th edition of the Artios Awards, the awards given by the US Casting Society (CSA, in English).
“I’m in a fantastic time, I don’t even know where I’m getting the strength from, but I still want to work,” said the core group member known as ‘EGOT’ – Emmy winner , Grammy, Oscar and Tony – ahead of the gala – in statements to EFE.
In addition, the interpreter indicated that after having recently released the film “80 for Brady”, alongside her colleagues Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Sally Field, “she is impatiently awaiting” the release of the tenth installment of “Fast and Furious”, in which he participates.
The first Latin actress to win an Oscar, thanks to “West Side Story” (1961), also revealed that this year “it is impossible for her” to attend the Hollywood Academy Awards, but that she will follow them from afar.
The recognition Moreno earned this Thursday is named after casting director Lynn Stalmaster, who died in 2021 leaving a legacy of more than 400 films.
This award adds to a long list of awards in which, among others, he also has the Stanley Kramer Award from the Producers Union, which he received in 2002 for a career that, to date, is made up of more than forty films.
The Artios Awards recognize film, television and theater professionals in twenty categories that recognize originality, creativity and the contributions of casting to the overall quality of films.
In this edition, presented by actress Yvette Nicole Brown, casting director Leslee Feldman was also honored with the Hoyt Bowers Award; or his colleague Jessica Sherman, with the Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Prize, among other personalities. EFE
