René Román is Real Zaragoza’s first signing in this winter market. The 37-year-old veteran goalkeeper was currently without a team after terminating his contract with Dinamo Bucharest due to defaults, as a result of the Romanian club’s financial problems, and his contract is now closed in the absence of a medical examination and firm.

René also becomes the first signing of Miguel Torrecilla as sports director of Real Zaragoza. The goalkeeper thus replaces Álvaro Ratón, who is on loan to Nástic de Tarragona, Second B, until the end of the season in search of the minutes he did not have in the Aragonese team. Both movements will be officially announced in the next few hours.

René Román Hinojo (El Bosque, Cádiz, December 15, 1983), 1.83 meters high, went through Racing Portuense, Betis B, Estepona, Cacereño, Cartagena and Barakaldo before debuting in Second Division in the 2013-14 season with Jaén. After descending with the Andalusians, he signed for Llagostera and after two seasons there he landed at Girona, a team with which he was promoted to First in the 2016-17 season, playing half of the games.

His next destination was Almería, where he played two and a half seasons before going on loan to Ponferradina in the last winter market. After another half season at Dinamo Bucharest, he will now complete the Real Zaragoza goal together with Cristian Álvarez and Carlos Azón.
