Jon Rahm made sure mistakes didn’t show up on his card on Saturday at the Riviera, and that made all the difference as he completed a 6-under 65 that singled him out at the Genesis Invitational. .

Tiger Woods was one of the golfers who lost ground to the leader, but at least he looked good.

He had an eagle and a run of 67, his best Saturday run in an official tournament since winning the Japanese Zozo Championship in the fall of 2019.

Even so, it is located 12 strokes from the top.

Rahm capped a bogeyless day with a 25-foot birdie putt. With that, he took a three-stroke lead over Max Homa, who had shared the lead until he bogeyed back-to-back from the front nine bunkers.

He closed with a card of 69 impacts.

Keith Mitchell hit his only bogey on the last hole and shot 69 to fall four strokes from the lead. The other player who is five or younger is Patrick Cantlay (68).

Rahm has been the best golfer in the last six months. Since the European Tour BMW PGA Championship, he has finished in the top 10 in nine consecutive tournaments, winning four.

He needs to get back to the top of the world rankings and he can do it with a win this Sunday.
