Regrowth in the southern province china from Yunnan The number of new positives for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus continues to rise in the Asian country, where this Sunday 32 new cases were detected of which 15 were due to local contagion in that region.

Although the figures are not particularly high, they do indicate an upward trend in recent days, after the 21 total cases detected this Saturday and 26 on Friday, compared to 9 on Thursday or 16 on Wednesday.

With the 15 new positives in Yunnan, there are already 48 confirmed cases since last Tuesday in this border region with Burma, Laos and Vietnam, in which the town of Ruili (on the border with Burma) was confined, and a analysis and inoculation campaign to its entire population, of about 300,000 inhabitants.

The other 17 new infections announced today were detected in travelers from abroad in Beijing (1), in the Shanghai metropolitan area (east, 3), and in the provinces of Shaanxi (center, 4), Sichuan (center, 3 ), Jiangsu (east, 2), Tianjin (northeast, 1), Inner Mongolia (north, 1), Zhejiang (east, 1), and Fujian (southeast, 1).

Thus, the total number of active infected in mainland China stood at 238, 2 of them serious.

The institution noted that, since the beginning of the pandemic, 90,305 people have been infected in the country, among whom 85,431 have managed to heal and 4,636 have died.

To date, 993,361 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 7,430 are still under observation.
