More than half a ton of marijuana transported by a parcel company was seized in Nuevo León

According to the authorities’ report, the seizure took place within the framework of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Addictions Together for Peace, while they were carrying out inspection actions to inhibit the transport of illicit substances.

With prior authorization, national guards and a specially trained police dog entered the premises of a courier and parcel company, located in the municipality of san nicholas de los heroesNew Leo.

During the inspection tour, the National Guard dog was attracted by four wooden drawers which were large in size and wrapped in plastic, to which he gave a warning signal, followed by a positive indication of the presence of an illegal object or drugs.

As a result, elements of the National Guard, in the presence of the workers of the parcel company, proceeded to check the parcels, inside which there were about other 89 boxes tightly stored and protected.

The cargo located by the officers had an approximate weight of 640 kg, consisting of wrappers made with cinnamon tape “that contained green, dry grass with the characteristics of marijuana,” the GN said.

The package had been sent from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and was destined for Matamoros, Tamaulipas. He was intercepted in the state of Nuevo León.

Packages with more than half a ton of marijuana were seized and made available to the entity’s public prosecution agency so that the authorities can continue the corresponding investigations and accurately determine the properties and weight of the drugs.

The discovery was also made within a courier and parcel company. The uniformed officers were carrying out security actions accompanied by a canine couple, which is why they entered the company’s home, located in the municipality of Colón, with authorization.

At the scene, the dog sniffed several packages chosen at random by the staff of the establishment and was particularly interested in one of Morelia, Michoacan, and to an address in the State of California, United States.

When officers proceeded to open the package to which the couple gave a positive signal, they found black plastic bottles with shampoo labels and found amber oil of the hallucinogenic drug LSD (l lysergic acid).

The narcotics were seized and made available to the Public Prosecution Agency so that the authorities could determine the quantity of drugs and continue the corresponding investigations.

Also in the same week, but in the state of Guanajuato, another squad of members of the GN and the Mexican army arrested a motorist and his passengerwho transported approximately 270 packages of marijuana and three glass containers.

In this case, the officers were carrying out security actions at an inspection station when they observed a driver acting strangely, because as he approached, he tried to escape from them on a dirt road, which who alerted the officers and they proceeded to chase him until they caught him. with him.

“With these actions, this type of narcotics is prevented from reaching Mexican youth and affecting their integral development; meanwhile, the National Guard reaffirms its commitment to preserve the well-being of citizens, contributing with the Mexican government to guarantee the peace and security of the population,” the National Guard said.
