Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed in Kyiv today that the delivery of the first four Polish “Leopard” tanks to Ukraine has been completed and assured that more will follow soon.

In a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky, Morawiecki urged “our partners in the European Union (EU) and NATO to do the same and to further extend the sanctions against Moscow”, because, according to him, the proposed tenth package is “too weak”.

“Today I will ask the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to include more names on the sanctioned list, including those of some extremely harmful propagandists,” the Polish Prime Minister said.

Morawiecki is in the Ukrainian capital today, where he expressed “his support for our Ukrainian brothers in what is now the capital of freedom, the easternmost fortress of free Europe” to the first anniversary of the outbreak of the Russian invasion and the outbreak of war.

The Polish Prime Minister added that “in Russia’s plans”, his country “is going to be next in line” and that “there is no place in the free world for the doctrine of ‘mir’ (peace) Russian” for a year. Moscow “has revealed its true face”.

As part of his visit, Morawiecki also participated in an extraordinary plenary session of the Ukrainian Parliament.

For his part, Zelensky raised the possibility of creating an “air coalition” which would serve to ensure that his country received fighter jets from Western countries, and although he admitted that “it is a difficult question”, he was confident that “it will overcome this taboo”.

“We are working in this direction”, underlined the Ukrainian President, “because it would strengthen the Ukrainian army and, above all, it would increase the security of our airspace”.

Moreover, within the framework of the logistical assistance that Poland is providing to Ukraine, Zelensky welcomed “a proposal by the Polish Prime Minister for 2,500 of our soldiers to receive medical treatment and rehabilitation in Poland”.

On the other hand, the chairman of the placo, Andrzej Duda, assured Polish radio today that he has invited Zelenski to come to Warsaw when the circumstances are right, because, he said, “c is something that the Ukrainian people (who live) would love very much.” in Poland”.
