Ricardo MontrealChairman of the Political Coordination Council (Jucopo) at SenateIt showed rejection positioning of the presidents of the external relations commissions of the United States Congress in connection with electoral plan B.

INE denied government over millionaire settlements to Lorenzo Córdova and Ciro Murayama
Journalist Jenaro Villamil shared alleged INE files that reflected the numbers the two advisers would receive upon leaving the Institute
In their statement, members of Congress expressed concern about the electoral reformal, since they considered that the Congress of the Union put the future of the country’s democratic institutions in jeopardy. They were particularly concerned about the forecastsa reduction in the payroll and the budget of the National Electoral Institute (INE).
Monreal replied to this message which he described as a interference on a topic that should be discussed exclusively in Mexico.

“As Majority Leader in the Mexican Senate, I seriously express my rejection of foreign interference in the internal affairs of our country. The electoral reform still in progress is a matter that only corresponds to Mexicans and our institutions”
Likewise, the senator of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), denied that the Mexican democratic system is in danger by the so-called plan B.

Plan B: AMLO electoral reform will advance in the Senate, but “eternal life” divides Congress
The eternal life clause was condemned by the parliamentary opposition; however, the rest of the advice will be discussed and voted on in the Senate next week.
“Our democracy is not in danger, our democracy continues to improve moment by moment. We are clear on what is happening and we are clear on the fact that we must continue to deepen the democratic life of the country, but it will be us”.

Monreal made the statement despite having been one of the critics of electoral reform, as he acknowledged in his February 25 message.

Lilly Téllez announced that Morena is “preparing for the big election heist” with the approval of Plan B
The PAN senator assured that the Fourth Transformation plan is supposed to render the INE “useless” so that it can “cheat” in the elections and stay in power
“I myself expressed differences with the reform but I go inside my country to express our positions in order to find solutions to our problems and our differences”.
Under this tenor, he called on lawmakers of all political affiliations to affirm the sovereignty and autonomy of Mexico.

Finally, Monreal has shown its position regarding the strained diplomatic relations between Mexico and Peru. Regarding the determination of To Boluarte to expel Peruvian Ambassador Manuel Gerardo Talavera from Mexican lands, said:
“I regret your decision to reduce relations with Mexico to a minimum of expression. We hope that a return to constitutional order, respect for human rights and a solution to its internal problems will soon be achieved in this sister nation.”
There second part of plan B promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was approved in the Senate of the Republic on February 22, which is why it was entrusted to the federal executive to publish it in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

In the final decision, it was removed the “eternal life” clausewell known for considering the transfer of votes between political parties, which would allow smaller groups to retain their registration even without having the minimum necessary.
The changes should be challenged by the opposition before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) after being released in the DOF. As happened with the reforms of the general law on social communication and the general law on administrative responsibilities.
The ace actions of unconstitutionality in connection with the aforementioned laws were admitted to the procedure by Minister Alberto Pérez Dayán on February 21.
Likewise, Pérez Dayán determined that the changes will not be applicable to the 2023 elections in the State of Mexico and Coahuila. Indeed, the reform was enacted during the electoral ban and the effects it could have.
“It contains fundamental legal changes and if not granted, its application could lead to irreparable effects on the democratic system and the fundamental rights involved in it,” the SCJN said.
