Mexico City, April 16. The massacre of seven Mexicans in a seaside resort in Guanajuato was a settling of accounts, revealed this Sunday Diego Sinhue, governor of the state.
“It’s a question of cartels and accounts,” he told the media during a visit to the Mexican entity of Aguascalientes.
This Saturday, an armed group broke into the spa resort of La Palma, located in the municipality of Cortazar, killing seven people by gunfire: three women, three men and a child under 7, and another injured.
Sinhue said in the Mexican state of Aguascalientes that the revenge crime could be linked to the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel.
Guanajuato’s governor said he wanted “justice served quickly” and assured that those responsible for the multiple murders in the resort town of La Palma would come down.
Regarding the relationship of the murdered, he indicated that one of the women remains to be identified; although he stated that they are linked to being linked to criminal groups.
También admitió que se trata de una serie de venganzas que ha habito en el estado del bajío mexicano desde hace tiempo, y se han registrado ocho massacres en lo que va del año, y que también tienen relación a la criminalidad que se presenteda en todo el Country.
However, he pointed out that in Guanajuato, 30 detainees have already been brought before the courts for these events.
For his part, he expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased, while regretting that this type of crime affects minors.
The Mexican army and the public security forces of the state of Guanajuato deployed an operation on all communication routes with the municipality, supported by a helicopter.
According to Mexican authorities, four of those murdered are from the municipality of Guanajuato in Cortazar and three from Celaya.
