On March 11, the public prosecutor’s office (FGE) of Chiapas reported that a review judge bound the process and issued preventive prison against man who allegedly murdered his children with poisoned yogurt.
There 1 year old girl seven monthsthe initials KCVH and the 13 year old boywith the initials EHVH, died on March 5 at the Amatán Base Hospital.
It was their mother, Julia “N”, who took them to the medical center with three minors over 3, 10 and 12 years old. The woman and her children were reported with delicate state of health.
It was allegedly the father of miners, Edi Humberto “N”, who sent them this food by one of his brothers. The FGE detailed in a press release that:
They ate the yogurt that their father Edi Humberto “N” had sent to them with his younger brother. They felt unwell and were taken by their mother Julia “N” to Amatán Base Hospital, where a few minutes later they died of poisoning.
Edi Humberto “N” was arrested by members of the investigative police, who fulfilled the arrest warrant against him for his alleged responsibility in the felony aggravated homicide.
After being arrested, the alleged perpetrator of the crime was made available to a supervising judge, to whom the FGE presented test data this Saturday.
“Review Judge determined Link to Process’s order against Edi Humberto “N” ordering the precautionary measure of unofficial preventive detention and three months of additional investigation“, announced the prosecution.
So far, authorities have not updated the condition of the mother and brother of the miners who also ingested the dairy products.
This is not the first case in which a father has been accused of murdering his children since the beginning of the year. It was only in the first two months of 2023 in Oaxaca that two such crimes took place.
The first of the cases occurred on January 3 in the community of San Andrés Huayapam. Leonard MA father of two girls aged 3 and 7, allegedly started a fire in which minors and two adult women were trapped.
The girls died while the women and the alleged attacker were injured. The man was treated at a clinic in Tlalpan, Mexico.
On February 5, elements of the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) completed the arrest warrant against him at the hospital where he received medical treatment.
To this crime was added that of two sisters, aged 17 and 19, who were murdered inside their home in the capital Oaxaca on the night of February 20. Authorities located their bodies in a building in the Orquídeas subdivision, located in the municipality of Santa Rosa Panzacola.
Her father, allegedly responsible for the femicide, attempted suicide. They found him bleeding inside the same house where the remains of the young women were, for which he was transferred to a hospital, where he remained in custody.
On the other hand, on February 18 A girl and a boy were found dead on a road in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec area. The miners, who were brothers, devoted themselves to the sale of fried foods.
The FGEO reports that both died of asphyxiation and that to date there is only one detainee, suspected of domestic violence against the victims.
