France will send to Ukraine another six Caesar heavy self-propelled guns to be added to the twelve already sent, the French president announced Thursday, Emmanuel Macronand Kyiv.
The announcement at the joint press conference with the leaders of Germany, Italy and Romania, together with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky comes after repeated requests from kyiv for the West to send more heavy weapons and ammunition to combat the Russian invasion.
Macron He also stressed that the four community leaders visiting kyiv today support the status of “immediate candidate for accession”.
“Europe is on your side, and it will be for as long as it takes until victory,” proclaimed the French president, addressing Zelensky.
Macron also appealed to Russia to facilitate the export of cereals from Ukraine and stop blocking them as it happens in the port of Odessa.
“We solemnly ask Russia to accept that the UN organize the export of cereals, for which we need an acceptance of the lifting of the Russian blockade and to give all security guarantees” ships transiting the area, he said.
Macron took the opportunity to reinforce his support in the investigation of crimes against humanity allegedly committed by the Russian Army against Ukrainian civilians.
