Los Angeles (USA), 27 Feb. Los Angeles Lakers leader LeBron James will miss his team’s game on Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies with a right foot injury suffered on Sunday and there are fears he could be out for an extended period.

LeBron injured his right foot, without having had the slightest contact with a rival, during his team’s victory this Sunday at the Dallas Mavericks, in a game where he continued to compete despite the pain.

The Lakers reported on Monday that LeBron would not be present for Tuesday’s meeting with the Grizzlies and ‘King James’ expressed his frustration with a post on his social media in which he attached a photo of his right leg.

Although the Lakers have not reported how long his recovery will take, US media say LeBron, 38, could be “down for several weeks.”

The Lakers, twelfth in the West (29-32), chained three consecutive victories and progressed in their fight to access the play-in places.

The Los Angeles team will face the Memphis Grizzlies, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors this week.

LeBron is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season, in which he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. EFE
