The General Council of National Electoral Institute (INE) declared invalid the modifications that the National Political Council (CPN) of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), after a modification of article 83, in section XXXVII, of the statutes of the institute, was approved during the meeting of December 9, 2022, which could extend the mandate of the national direction of the tricolor for longer from the workbench
INE has pushed back Alito Moreno and will not be able to extend his mandate at the PRI
It was on December 19 that the National Political Council approved the modification of Article 83, in its section XXXVII, with which Moreno Cárdenas could continue in national leadership beyond August of this year.
In a close vote of six votes for and five againstthe members of the General Council indicated that the revolutionary Institutional did not respect the procedure of modification of its statutes, which are established in the same official document.
