Their homes and businesses ended up being flooded with mud and stones from the huaicos. In view of this, they asked for the support of the authorities, such as the Congress of the Republic.
The impact of landslide and the inaction of the authorities motivated citizens to show their dissatisfaction with the lack of support they received. As they pointed out, they need heavy machinery for cleaning work.
The overflow of Yarcan Lagoon It has also caused traders in the area to lose their homes and businesses, which are their only means of livelihood.

Regarding car traffic, the road via Canta is completely interrupted because of this flow of mud and stones. The neighbors had to get shovels and buckets to try to clear the way, but the job is very difficult because the amount of mud is beyond them.
The situation has become critical. A large number of houses were completely flooded with mud following the mudslide that caused the Yarcan Lagoon to overflow. The emergency began in the early hours of this Monday, March 20, and with cries of alarm, everyone immediately began to leave their homes with what little they could take with them.
In the footage, it was observed that neighbors have to walk barefoot through the mud in an attempt to reach their homes. In addition, it was possible to see how a robust machine has become the new transfer tool for children in the neighborhood, who find it even more difficult to move around.
