If you are Self employed and your monthly income does not exceed S/3,609 or if you hold the position of director, trustee, agent, business manager, executor or similar and you receive up to S/2,888 per month, you can apply for suspension of the restraint of the Fourth category before the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (CIRCUMCISION).

Before the end of 2022, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) announced the level increase for the Fiscal unit (ITU)which went from S/4,600 to S/4,950 in 2023.

What does this increase mean? This will allow a greater number of workers not to be affected by the payment of the Income tax (IR) for your income to be declared within twelve months.

The rule also clarifies that citizens who project their income from Income of the fourth and fifth categorieswhich do not exceed S/43,313, may request the suspension of income tax deductions and/or payments.

You must know in order for you to run this suspension you must first recognize if you expect your income by 2023 to be no more than S/34,650 for the exercise of a profession, art or trade. Likewise, if you will collect S/32,200 for serving as director of companies, trustees, agents and the like.

This procedure can be carried out at any time of the year and the suspension will be valid from the day after its generation until December 31, 2023. The request is submitted in person or via the platform of CIRCUMCISION.

– SOL key.

– Date of first income for 4th category income.

– Total amount of income or projection of 4th and 5th category income, if you had any.

Attach these two documents if you are applying in person or if your virtual application has been rejected:

– Printed proof of claim rejection or system failure.

– Application form for suspension of deductions or deposits, completed and printed.

– Enter for this link with your RUC number and SOL key.

– Go to the “People” section and find the one that says “other statements” and “requests”.

– Go to one of the Taxpayer Service Centers with your application form and printed proof that you cannot complete the process online.

– This documentation will be received by one of the officials, who will enter the data into the system and give you a certificate which will be from this day until the last calendar day of the following month.

The system will verify the information submitted “online” and proceed with the authorization to suspend deductions and/or deposits, if applicable, by issuing the corresponding certificate which can be sent to the e-mail address of your choice. The suspension takes effect from the day after the date of the procedure and is valid until December 31, 2023.
