The afternoon of this Wednesday, March 10, Claudia Sheinbaum, head of government of Mexico City, accompanied by Andres Lajous, head of the Ministry of Mobility; Jesus Esteva, head of the Ministry of Works and Services; Roberto Capuano, general director of the Metrobús; Y Santiago Tabuada, mayor of Benito Juárez, inaugurated the Expansion of Line 3 of the Metrobús, same that will connect Tenayuca with the Town of Santa Cruz Atoyac.

Tenayuca is a neighborhood located in the mayor’s office Gustavo A. Madero north of the national capital. This town borders the Mexico state and was part of the original project of the now expanded line. In the first section of this route built, the terminal station was Ethiopia, in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office; however, thanks to the investment of 366.4 million pesos, Line 3 extends five more stations, reaching Colonia Santa Cruz Atoyac.

Stations were added to the new route Luz Saviñón, Eugenia, North Division, Miguel Laurent and Pueblo Sta. Cruz Atoyac. This means that it crosses the colonies Narvarte and Del Valle. As reference points in the new terminal is the Deer Park, the gymnasium of the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, the Parque de los Venados Metro station and the newspaper office The Day. A little further away is the Olympic Pool and the Coyoacán Mayor’s Office.

This 3.6 kilometer extension is intended to optimize the mobility of 13,000 users on a daily basis. The optimization of transport in the CDMX network also looks efficient, since now a connection with Line 12 of the Metro Collective Transport System (STC) has been added. This represents a series of interconnections that optimize four capital city mayors (Gustavo A. Madero, Azcapotzalco, Cuauhtémoc and Benito Juárez) and a municipality of Edomex (Tlalnepantla).

On her own, Dr. Sheinaum Pardo celebrated the inauguration and added that Line 3 now measures 20.6 kilometers that will benefit around 100,000 citizens.

In terms of citizen mobility, the government of Claudia Sheinbaum has undertaken a series of projects with a social vision to generate better conditions for the inhabitants of the most remote neighborhoods. Such was the case of the presentation of the Cable Bus, the means of transport that will connect the elevated parts of the city (hills) with the main terminals built so far. In the first section, the town of Tlalpexco, in the Gustavo A. Madero, with the north terminal of Metro Line 3, Indios Verdes.

This project arose from the popular demand to improve transportation conditions in the town, this because the urban distribution and the geographical conditions they made the residents of the colony take up to two hours to get to the Indios Verdes truck terminal.

Regarding the Metrobús, also, in this administration, Line 5 was expanded, in such a way that it is now the longest route of this means of transport, since it connects to Ecatepec, State of Mexico, with the south of CDMX. The station River of the Remedies It is located in the northern part of the capital, right on the border with one of the most dangerous municipalities in Mexico and the station Pumps, reaches the region known as Coapa, near the Xochimilco Unit Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM-X).
