Tegucigalpa, Jan 23- The number of infections with covid-19 in Honduras rose this Saturday to 140,238 and the deaths to 3,441 after almost eleven months of the pandemic, reported the state National Risk Management System (Sinager).
Of 2,753 new laboratory PCR tests, 1,056 were positive, with which there are already 140,238 infections, the Sinager indicated in its daily statement.
The health agency added two new deaths to its records, for a total of 3,441 nationwide, while hospitalized patients total 1,097, of which 882 have a stable condition, 161 are seriously ill and 54 are in intensive care units.
With regard to those recovered, 38 new cases were added today, with which the figure rose to 60,448.
The Sinager warned again that the covid-19 pandemic has not ended and appealed to the population that if you do not need to go out, do not do it, and avoid crowds of people so as not to contract the disease.
The first two cases of coronavirus in Honduras, with a population of 9.3 million, were notified on March 11, two Honduran women who arrived in the country from Spain and Switzerland.
Due to the high incidence of covid-19 cases and the saturation of hospital capacity, the National Police of Honduras indicated in a statement that it will “strictly” apply the curfew between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. local time (from 03:00 a.m. to 11.00 GMT).
