dew nahlehead of the Ministry of Energy (Tendon), scored a new record as refining for Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex). However, this item reaches 72%, being that 35% of the administration of Enrique Pena Nieto (AT).

During the morning conference this Thursday, March 16, the engineer Nahle García pointed out that the projects promoted by the government of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) inside and outside of Mexico have yielded the fruit of considerable progress in the national petrochemical industry.

The graduate of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) maintained that it is not only about the construction of the Olmeca Refinery in Dos BocasTabasco, or the end of the acquisition of the refinery of deer park in Texas, United States (USA), but to this must be added the rehabilitation which was granted to existing refineries in the national territory to improve the National Refining System (SNR) of Mexico.

With an investment of 62 thousand 898 million pesosSener began the process of rehabilitating refineries in Mexico in 2019. With this, production was increased by 35%, which was the capacity of this infrastructure in December 2018at 72%.

Currently, 922,000 barrels per day are refined; however, the goal for the end of 2023 is to treat one million 200 thousand barrels daily at the Graal Lázaro Cárdenas refineries in Minatitlán, Ing Héctor R. Lara Sosa in Cadereyta; Francisco I. Madero in Ciudad Madero, engineer Antonio M. Amor in Salamanca, Miguel Hidalgo in Tula, engineer Antonio Dovalí Jaime in Salina Cruz, Deer Park in Texas and the Olmeca refinery in Dos Bocas.

In this way, Rocío Nahle hopes to be able to satisfy the demand for fuel within the republic and, thus, fulfill the promise of fuel energy self-sufficiency. In addition, 39 major repairs and 186 minor repairs are envisaged, making a total of 225 which enter as a direct investment, regardless of the operation and scheduled regular maintenance.

Compared to the Dos Bocas refinery, which cost a total of 12.6 billion dollarsthe federal secretary clarified that he is already in the process of testing, starting up and integrating the lines, so that he can process 340,000 barrels per day: 170,000 barrels of gasoline and 120,000 barrels of diesel at very low sulfur content.

Another great advance is the plant Tula Coking Plant, Hidalgo, which began construction during Peña Nieto’s six-year term, but was abandoned after the last federal PRI administration invested $1.6 billion. This project includes the construction of five service plants: Amines; bitter waters; Diesel hydrodesulfurizer; Diesel and hydrogen hydrodesulphurization plant; as well as two electrical substations and a cooling tower.

Said plant goes to 88% and the other processing plants already have the foundations, the integration racks are already manufactured and 78% of the detailed engineering is already in place. Likewise, critical equipment is manufactured in different parts of the world and in Mexico, in addition to the fact that the buildings of the two new substations are already constructed.

Agree with energyandcommerce.comcoke ovens are a key element in the structure of refineries, as they contribute to obtaining a more profit for oil and get some higher fuel percentage; likewise, it helps to reduce the environmental impact as fuel oil is not generated.

It is in this context that Nahle specified that this factory will be completed in November of this year. In addition to this, Sener also made the decision with Pemex to create another coker at the Salina Cruz refinerythis to eradicate the generation of fuel in Mexico. This project requires an investment of US$3.1 billion.
