For Key 2 of the CONMEBOL – Copa Libertadores 2023 tournament, the host of the match between El Nacional and Nacional celebrated this Wednesday at the Colossus of El Batán with a 3-1. The goals of the match for the locals were scored by Andrés Micolta (17′ 1T), Madison Julio (44′ 1T) and Byron Palacios (45′ 2T). While the visitors’ goal is scored by Gustavo Cristaldo (9′ 2T, from a free kick).
Éver Almeida’s team created danger with a shot from Ronie Carrillo, 49 minutes into the second leg, which ended up hitting one of the posts.
The best man of the game was Madison Julio. The El Nacional midfielder scored 1 goal, made 25 assists, stole 5 balls and looked twice for the opposite goal.
Andrés Micolta also played a key role. The El Nacional defender had a good level, scoring 1 goal and stealing 5 balls.
The game was notable for a lot of friction and constant fouls that cut the game short. There were several warned: Widen Saucedo, Andrés Micolta, Manuel Balda, Saulo Guerra and Saidt Mustafá.
El Nacional coach Éver Almeida suggested a 4-4-2 formation with David Cabezas in goal; Jerry Parrales, Andrés Micolta, Jhonnier Chalá and Bryan Nazareno on the defensive line; Maicon Solís, Madison Julio, Jefferson Valverde and Eddy Mejía in the middle; and Jorge Ordóñez and Ronie Carrillo in attack.
For their part, Víctor Andrada’s side entered the field in a 4-5-1 format with Saidt Mustafá under the three sticks; Widen Saucedo, Martín Galain, Maximiliano Ortiz and Heber Leaños in defense; Saulo Guerra, Jorge Marcos Andía, Diego Hoyos, Martín Prost and Gustavo Cristaldo in midfield; and Tommy Tobar in front.
Bruno Arleu de Araujo was the referee who directed the match at the Colossus of El Batán.
With this result, El Nacional qualified for the second phase of CONMEBOL – Copa Libertadores 2023 and left Nacional on the road.
