Despite the economic crisis, the Ariel Awards 2023 will take place

After months in which the Ariel Rewards had to be postponed for lack of money to carry out the ceremony, the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (ACC) revealed that Yes, he will do the price and opened the call for the recording of the images, not without reminding that its economic crisis continues.

By the end of 2022, the General assembly of the Ariel informed that, as he had long anticipated, the financial problems that they had outgrown the Academy and could not perform the 65th Awards Ceremony, suspending them until further notice.

This generated criticism and even debate from artists and politicians due to the lack of support for the awards; however, thank you for the donations AMACC has obtained for International equipment and film design and the contributions of its members, launched the call for the 2023 edition of the ceremony.

However, they pointed out that the donations and fees that will cover the event do not give them certainty for the development of the Academy and it does not solve the economic problems they’ve had it for over a year.
